Superduper serial4/14/2023 At this point the greatest bottleneck in cloning speed will be the disks in question, eg: some units with 5400 RPM HDs. It's the current "hyper" version of what has ALWAYS been possible with OS X via Firewire 400 & 800. Thunderbolt cloning is pretty sweet, yes. OS X Server uses many postgresql and sqlite databases that should not be cloned externally while in operation - your "cloned" data will not be in a known-good reliable state. Same is true with even Windows if you're using databases. Keep in mind with OS X Server - or any other server for that matter ! you *can NOT* safely clone an OS that is in operation. The other apps may make this easier, but the above is what I trust. Or else create an image, scan for ASR and restore to a disk of a different size, and the image will only be the size (of the data) used from the source. Select the source and "restore" to the destination, which must the the same size or larger. You could boot into recovery mode with 10.7 and later to clone the OS drive to another. The way to do this consistently and reliably was to boot from a matching OS X (usb, firewire drive), and use Disk Utility to do the clone.
